For those not in the know, the Arkh Project is a video game project featuring a cast of trans people of color. At first, it sounded like a really great idea. I’m all for more representation of LGBT and POC characters, as well as promoting indie games.
An Argument against Arkh, a scam disguised as a new path.
This is a breakdown of the most recent update of the project.
This game as of this moment has raised 5.5k/100k they requisitioned for its goal. Unlike other projects of it’s type they we’re forced to go to a third party funding network instead of kickstarter. Why? Because Kickstarter is an all or nothing gambit, I have heard that the creator has claimed kickstarter did not want their business and claimed bias. It’s more likely that they refused to allow the game to be funded in 10 seperate parts, the 3rd party network they’re using would allow it to go through 10 rounds of funding with the money kept while not being obliged to the original intent. As of the moment this is being shown by them switching to the unreal engine.
Webcomic creators, please be aware that there are a pair of Android Store apps featuring your content called DailyComix. One of them is free and ad-supported, while the other is $1.99.
I see no evidence of creators who have comics featured in these apps are getting any…
I’ve seen this guy tromping around for awhile now and I figured it was only a matter of time before he came after TH. I’ve sent him an email that was rather curt. I noticed that he changed the website to say that the pay-to-read app supports the development costs of the app, which is circular logic if you think about it (and he’s profiting in someway off of TH). If you want to read TH, go to the site. If you want to support me, buy something from my store. Please don’t republish my work.
AD REVENUES I SHALL GET CODES AND DISABLE RSS ON THE SITE >:
*Edit* Shit we are on it, drawing lawsuit papers, some comics might be poor, and we’re definitly lazy but not poor. *Pulls his lawyer from his pocket and feeds him some pizza*
